CDE CLASSIC 2024

The first Car // Design Event combined new concept cars with heritage and classic cars. From 2024 we will host CDE Classic as a standalone event focussed on classic and youngtimer vehicles. The new National Auto Museum in Dietzhölztal will serve as the hub for test drives in the surrounding hills. The first CDE Classic aims to bring together leading automotive journalists and students with classic car experts, manufacturers and workshops in an inspiring and jaw-dropping surrounding offered by the Loh Collection.

’Car Design Event’ was the first event tailored to allow direct contact between journalists and designers in presence of their creations. It was also the first time designers could communicate among themselves in such an open setting. I believe that the event has great potential, and we would like to develop it in the future. Thank you to Jens, Des and their team for making this possible.

It was an exciting and interesting event. The discussions about AI, on which we conduct a lot of research, will soon open new perspectives not just at our school, but at design departments as well. During our visit, I could see the enthusiasm among my students. The chance to personally meet some of the industry’s top designers was a great reward for them. Prof. Dr. Othmar Wickenheiser of Hochschule München brought a group of automotive design students to the Car // Design Event. At CDE Classic we will also invite a group of selected students to participate, meet classic car experts and join a Q&A session with representatives of the classic car scene.

CAR // DESIGN EVENT 2023 RECAP

The first Car // Design Event combined the latest concept cars and design visions with heritage and classic cars. The intimate setting of the Drivers & Business Club in Munich helped create a very successful inaugural event. From 2024 we will host a dedicated event for classic cars at the Nationales Automuseum in Dietzhölztal.
